Available Positions

The CogT Lab is looking for individuals with backgrounds in one or more of the following fields: neurosciences (e.g., cognitive, computational, clinical), computational sciences (e.g., computer science, data science, computational biology), or math and engineering (e.g., biomedical, electrical, electrical and computer engineering, math, statistics). Prior experience in health applications, neuroimaging, cognitive science, or gerontology/geriatrics is preferred.

Postdoctoral Fellows

The CogT Lab at Stanford University is seeking a highly motivatedpostdoctoral researcher to join our interdisciplinary team. Our lab focuseson understanding age-related cognitive decline and neurodegenerativediseases, with a special emphasis on Alzheimer's disease. We are committedto investigating the mechanisms of brain aging and developing innovative interventions to promote successful cognitive aging. All fellows will be offered an NIH-level competitive monthly stipend.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in cognitive or computational neuroscience, with an emphasis on neuroimaging techniques and computational methods. The ideal candidate will possess not only a deep conceptual understanding of neuroscience but also advanced technical expertise in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data modeling approaches.

Responsibilities

- Conduct research on the mechanisms underlying brain aging and cognitive decline

- Utilize advanced computational methods, including machine learning and AI, to analyze neuroimaging data (e.g.,      fMRI, EEG, or other modalities)

- Develop and apply models to explore brain-behavior relationships and predict cognitive outcomes

- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop interventions for Alzheimer’s-related dementia

- Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at academic conferences

Qualifications

- PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience, Computational Neuroscience, or a related field

- Strong background in neuroimaging data analysis (e.g., fMRI, EEG) and computational techniques

- Expertise in machine learning, AI, and data modeling

- Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, R) for complex data analysis

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a research setting

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with aging populations or neurodegenerative diseases

- Familiarity with deep learning and advanced statistical approaches to neuroimaging data

-  Prior publications in relevant areas

Application Instructions

Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, CV, and contact information for three references to Adam George Turnbull aturnbu2@stanford.edu. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

About the CogT Lab
The CogT Lab is dedicated to advancing the understanding of brain aging and cognitive decline. By investigating the biological mechanisms behind these processes, we aim to develop interventions that delay the progression
of Alzheimer's-related dementia and promote successful aging.
